FOR THE STRUGGLE LAUNCHES BLACK CHARLOTTEANS ISSUE SURVEY TO SHAPE COMMUNITY-LED AGENDA FOR UPCOMING ELECTION
Charlotte, NC (April 2025)—For The Struggle, Inc. (FTS) is calling on Black Charlotteans to speak up and shape the future of this community by participating in the newly launched Black Charlotteans Issue Survey.
The survey is open now and will identify the top concerns of Black residents across Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
The responses will drive the development of the Black Charlottean Agenda, a people-powered policy roadmap that will be presented to local lawmakers and candidates before the upcoming municipal election.
The agenda will reflect the authentic priorities and lived experiences of Black Charlotteans and will be shared publicly to ensure accountability for decision-makers.
“We know people have the answers—they just need the mic,” said Alesha Brown, Executive Director of For The Struggle.
“This survey focuses on building collective power and ensuring that the voices of Black Charlotteans are not just heard, but also acted upon.”
Following the survey, FTS will host a series of community town halls in predominantly Black neighborhoods across the city to discuss further results and invite residents to share their solutions and what they would like to see from local government in addressing identified issues.
The final Black Charlottean Agenda will be released in late summer 2025, just in time to influence local races.
